Obituary of Roscoe Robinson
Mr. Roscoe Robinson was born in Greenville, South Carolina to Maude Lee and J. D. Robinson on January 29, 1919 . The oldest of 6 children, he learned early, the skills of leadership and responsibility. At the age of 9, he worked with his grandfather selling fish fresh from a wagon. At the age of 25, he was enlisted in the United States Army.
He became a police officer in the army and took great pride in serving his country. He loved to work and held jobs at the Sparrows Point ship yard in Baltimore, Maryland and worked as a rails man supervisor with the Pennsylvania Railroad for 28 years.
Roscoe was an adventurous man who belonged to the Grand Masons and local sports clubs. He loved cabarets, playing cards, dancing, going to church, traveling and spending time visiting his family in South Carolina. Roscoe loved talking about trains, and baseball. Roscoe also loved to get dressed up and entertain friends.
He was known for his sense of humor and his witty remarks. He fathered 4 daughters and 1 step daughter. He was pre-deceased by his wife Daisy Robinson who passed away in 2011. He is grandfather to 10 grandchildren and numerous great and great, great grandchildren.
He leaves to mourn his granddaughter Rev. Stephany Graham Walker who provided care for him for the past 11 years.
