Obituary of Wayne C. Woods, Jr.
It is with great sadness that the family of Wayne C. Woods, Jr. announces his sudden passing on June 15, 2019.
Wayne was born in Yonkers, NY on July 8, 1965. Wayne graduated from Dutchess County Public Schools. He then went on to serve in the United States Navy. Wayne earned a Bachelors Degree in Meteorology and Marine Environmental Science from SUNY Maritime College. Wayne worked various jobs throughout his career including: 1st mate on the Tugboats, he served as a carpenter, a plumber, and ended his career as a steamfitter for the Castle Point Veterans Administration.
Wayne is survived by his Father; Wayne C. Woods (Ruth) of North Carolina, his mother; Joanne Herow (Dwight) of Delaware, his sister; Laura Redmond of Saugerties, NY, his aunt; Sharon Woods of Cortlandt Manor, NY, his uncle; Thomas Harney of Sleepy Hollow, NY, and two nieces.
He is pre-deceased by his aunt Janice Holliday of Peekskill, NY and his uncle Harold Woods of Cortlandt Manor, NY.
Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home 414 Washington Street, Peekskill NY 10566 on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Church of the Holy Spirit on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 10:00am.
Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor, NY.
