Obituary of Santa C. Garay
GARAY, Santa Cecilia, “Ceci”, age 51, of Yorktown Heights, NY passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 after a courageous battle against colon cancer. She was born December 9, 1967, in Valhalla, NY to Juan and Santa Torres. She is survived by her devoting husband of 20 yrs., Jose T. Garay.
Ceci was an active member of the Tabernacle of Christ Church in Peekskill, NY. Her greatest passions in life were “The 3 F’s”; Faith, Family, and Friends. Her love was genuine and unconditional. She always had a smile on her face and a laugh that could liven up any room. The amount forgiveness in her heart was incomparable; especially after the untimely passing of her only daughter in 2006, proving yet again that her faith in the “Lord’s process” was unmatched. Even to the very end she would say, “This is the Lord’s process; we may not agree with it or ever know the reason behind it, but He has a purpose.”
Ceci was the loving mother of Ismael “Tito”, Juan “Pablo”, Anthony, Elsa (RIP 2006), and Robert; proud stepmother of Jose “Richard” and Edward “Eddie”/ “Abby”; and adored grandmother “Awies” of Juan Jr. “J.J.”, Elsa M., Victoria, Isabella “Isa”, Elsa D., Elliana, Josiah “Chinito”, Mila, Alexandria, and Valentina. She will also be lovingly remembered by 3 brothers, 3 sisters, numerous aunts/uncles/cousins/nieces/nephews, and the countless friends/family that she had touched with your warming smile, generous heart, and loving soul. She will be truly missed.
Family, Friends, and others whose lives Ceci had touched, are invited to say their farewells, reminisce, grieve, support each other, and of course laugh and smile, at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington St, Peekskill, NY 10566, on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
