Obituary of Douglas C DiCola
Douglas C. DiCola, age 57, passed away on January 31, 2020 at Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh, NY, following a lengthy illness.
Doug was a retired Bus Driver with the Hendrick Hudson School District. He was born in Peekskill on April 21, 1962 to Nicholas and Virginia (Miller) DiCola. In his younger days he enjoyed boating and fishing. More recently he was a devoted family man. One of his pastimes was watching hummingbirds.
Douglas is survived by his daughter and son, Nicole and Douglas, Jr. (DJ), both of Jupiter, FL. He also has 3 sisters, Cindy (Bernie) Calabro, of Verplanck, Theresa (John) Lyons, of Newburgh, and Debbie (Cesar) Nieves, of Daytona Beach, FL; also 2 brothers, Michael (Joanne) DiCola, of Cortlandt Manor, and Donald DiCola, of Newburgh. Doug also has several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and great nieces and great nephews.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, Nicholas and Virginia DiCola, a sister, Victoria Bushey, and a brother Nicholas “Billie” DiCola.
Visiting will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington St. Peekskill, NY.
There will be a Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10AM at St. Christopher’s Church, in Buchanan.
Private Cremation will follow.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence.
