Obituary of Gertrude 'Trudy' Selleck
Gertrude (Trudy) Selleck (Neave) passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y. on August 4, 1941, to Thomas and Anna Neave. She attended Mount Vernon schools and was a graduate of Edison High School. After her high school graduation, she began working at the New York Telephone Company where she met the love of her life, Patrick Selleck. Later in her life, she worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Yorktown Heights as a claim adjuster for 12 years. She was a long-term resident of Cortlandt Manor, NY., and was a parishioner of St. Columbanus Church in Cortlandt Manor and St. John’s Church in Graymoor, N.Y.
Trudy loved her family fiercely and unconditionally and enjoyed spending time with them.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick, of 56 years; her brother, Thomas Neave (Lori); her two daughters, Anne Marie Clegg (Tom) and Patrice Duker (Mike) and her grandchildren, Kyala and Jonathan Clegg and Daniel Duker. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews, as well as a number of great-nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her mother and father, Thomas and Anna Neave.
Visitation will be held at Nardone funeral home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY 10566 on Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Burial will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, 101 Mill Street, Putnam Valley, NY 10579.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic a mass and a celebration of Trudy’s life will held in the summer of 2021.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Trudy’s name to Hospice of Westchester or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
