Obituary of James Matthew Furlong
James, "Jimmy", Furlong age 66 passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at NY Presbyterian Hospital Cortlandt Manor NY due to Complications of Covid-19.
He was born on April 14, 1954, to the late Henry and Teresa Furlong.
He’s lived in the Peekskill/Cortlandt Manor area most of his life.
After graduating from Lakeland/Panas HS in 1972 Jim studied Business at SUNY at Delhi.
He enjoyed a long career at Gilbert Plastics and then Innovative Plastics in Orangeburg NY as a Laser Operator and many other functions. He retired in December 2016.
Anyone who knew Jimmy knows that he was an avid Country Music Fan and loved going to concerts. He also loved watching Wrestling for many years.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of almost 22 years, Diane (Harkins Hanny). He is also survived by his brother, Donald, with whom he lived in Cortlandt Manor. Sister, Joyce Furlong Kirstein (Charlie) of Cold Spring, Brother Kevin (Becky) Apex NC, Sister in Law, Irene Furlong.
He is lovingly remembered by his Niece, Jennifer Bogardus (Bill), and nephew Mike Furlong. He’s was also blessed with many wonderful cousins and extended family.
Jim is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Teresa Furlong, and brother, Tom Furlong.
Jim will be cared for by Joseph Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill NY and a Private Cremation Service has been selected by his loved ones.
