Victor Gerard “Jerry” Margiotta, age 87, a long-time resident of Verplanck passed away on May 5, 2016. Jerry along with his wife Lucy and their children owned and operated the Paradise Restaurant in Verplanck for many years. He was born on April 15, 1929 in the Bronx to Anthony and Maria Margiotta. On May 2, 1953 he married Lucy Rose Lombardi at St. Helena’s Church in the Bronx. He served in the US Army during the Korean War Era. Jerry was a member of the Mt. Carmel Society, Verplanck and the Christopher Columbus Society, Peekskill. He is survived by his ten loving children; Anthony Margiotta, Lagrangeville, NY, Marie Victoria (Stephen) Wolpert, Athens, NY, Frank (Sharon) Phoenix, AZ, Michael Margiotta, Lagrange, NY, Gerard (Angela), Rensselaer, NY, James (Amy), Peoria, AZ, John (Frances), Verplanck, Victor Margiotta, Verplanck, Joseph (Lisa), Verplanck, NY and Charles (Elizabeth), Virginia. Also surviving are twenty-five cherished grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Predeceased by, his beloved wife Lucy Rose Margiotta on December 16, 2015. Also predeceased by, four brothers and four sisters. Visitation is Monday, May 9th, from 3pm to 7pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday, May 10th, 10am at the Assumption Church. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
