Obituary of Anthony P. Mastropaolo
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Anthony Mastropaolo, known to friends and family as Tony, on Tuesday, March 23, 2021.
Tony was the beloved husband and best friend of Jean Mastropaolo for 62 years. He was the loving father of Linda (Fred), Anthony (Fran), and John (Sharyn). He also was a proud grandfather to Christopher, Annalise (Nicholas), Cassandra, Gabriella, Anthony, Sophia, Stella, Alexandra, Isabella, and Joshua.
Tony was a dedicated employee of the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company for over 40 years. He served as a Regional Manager for the Meat Department and frequently traveled to various A&P locations around the east coast to help manage and grow this aspect of the company's operations. He was a proud member of the National Guard and served his country with honor for 3 years.
Tony was a family man to his core. Being respected and respecting others was how he lived his life. He loved his children and grandchildren deeply. He was a natural storyteller and lit up any room he stepped into. He enjoyed making homemade wine with friends and sharing the wine he made with loved ones. Tony enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sharing anything he brought home with those around him. He enjoyed vacationing in the Caribbean with his wife Jean, and occasionally spending a night at the casino in Atlantic City or Las Vegas. Tony also loved his garden and his backyard. He looked forward to opening the pool and his screened-in porch each and every summer. It is safe to say that some of Tony’s happiest moments took place in his backyard, during the summer, surrounded by family, friends, the smell of his barbecue grill, and the sounds of Frank Sinatra or a Yankee’s game. He will be sorely missed.
