Obituary of Arthur Wright Longden, Jr.

Arthur "Artie" Wright Longden, Jr. peacefully passed away at NYPHVH on April 4, 2021, and went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 76. 

Born in Yonkers, NY on June 17, 1945, at St. John's Riverside Hospital to Arthur and Dorothy Longden Sr. He attended Charles E. Gorton High School in Yonkers, after graduation, he joined IBEW Local 501/local 3 as an Electrical Apprentice and worked as an electrician until his retirement at age 62 in 2007.

His life revolved around his family. He was a doting husband who loved his wife Marilyn, literally more than the moon and stars, his children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Boy scouts, family camping trips, family time on Lake Champlain, fishing, boating, kayaking, bicycling, and traveling with Marilyn, spending their winters in Florida, He was always busy. He had a schedule like no other but would drop everything if any of his children needed him. He was a quiet man most of the time, but he was also all of his Grandson's biggest fans. No matter where what time or the weather, Grandpa would be in the football stadium, camera in hand, shouting the loudest cheering them on. He was an advice giver, a shoulder to cry on, a best friend, and a role model to all who knew him on what a husband and father should be. 

He is predeceased by his Parents Arthur Wright Longden, Sr. and Dorothy Silver Longden, and his beautiful Grandsons Benedetto Nicholas Paonessa and Anotonio Paonessa.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Marilyn (Brown) Longden and is lovingly remembered by his son Philip Arthur Longden, Sr his wife Karen, and their children, Philip, Jr, Zachary, and Timothy, Nathalie, and Emily, and great-grandchildren Haven and Jax, His daughter Jeannine Paonessa, her husband Benedetto, and their children, Giuseppe (Joey), Dominick, Stefano (Stevie), and Nicholas (Nicky), His daughter Amy McKinley and her husband Charles (Chuck) McKinley 
He is also survived by his loving sister Arline Consiglio and numerous nieces and nephews and cousin Greg Longden 

Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY on Thursday, April 8, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Inurnment Service to be held at Hillside Cemetery on Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in memory of Arthur to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
