Obituary of Anthony Vincent Viola
Anthony ‘Tony’ Vincent Viola passed away on January 28, 2022 at the age of 62. He was born in Peekskill on April 21, 1959, to the late Ernesto and Maria (DeStefano) Viola. Tony married Barbara Crocilla on April 7, 1990 and they have remained close friends and companions until his passing.
A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Tony led a successful career as a chef at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. He was a talented musician as well, never missing an opportunity to entertain. He found so much joy in making people happy with his music. He loved his baseball and was an avid NY Mets fan through and through. He enjoyed his life and the people in it.
He loved his children Anthony and Anna Maria (Osama) very much and following the passing of his sister Lucille Viola he took his nephews, Dr. John Costable and Patrick Costable under his wing and cared for them as his own. He was blessed with one grandson, Zayn, whom we are grateful he was able to meet.
He is also survived by his brother Ernest (Patricia) Viola, his sister Eleanor (Bob) Rose, and his sister Mildred, now Sister Bernadette of the Missionaries of Charity. He will also be lovingly missed by his nieces Jennifer and Angela and his nephews John, Patrick, Daniel, Ernest and Vincent.
We held out much hope for his life to be extended longer than we were given with him. It is our wish and our prayer that any suffering he had here has been washed away by the grace of God and he is singing with angels and watching the Mets from above. Please always remember his joyous spirit in thought, word, and deed.
