Obituary of Liam John Tolentino
Liam, my firstborn son, was an exuberant and fun-loving kid. He was your typical 15-year-old teenager who loves playing “Valorant” and was on his cellphone most of the time. He may be shy with strangers but very loyal to his close friends and family. He was a dreamer and leader. He loves writing short stories, reading Manga books, and anything Japanese.
We moved to Cortlandt Manor in July of last year, and yet he blended into WPHS easily. He even joined and was accepted to the Walter Panas Junior Varsity Football team. This fact proved his go-getter attitude.
My son lived his life to the fullest. He listened but may do not usually take advice. He did not conform to social norms, but he was not a rebel.
I’ve learned over the past months just how strong he was with his ACL surgery. I stand here today as a mother with a broken heart. The loss of a child is something nobody could have prepared. Even during the past days, under insurmountable odds, I refused to accept this tragedy. I wasn’t ready, and I'm still not prepared. He had so many dreams and so many plans for the future. I know he would have made these dreams come true.
Liam, I love you with all my heart; I am profoundly proud of you; you have taught me. I look forward to seeing you again when the time comes. I will continue to be the best mom I can be to Gaia, your sister. A wife to your Dad- Gerry and a daughter to Mama Mim. I will continue to seek peace, although it may not be easy. I will not let you down. It’s my turn to make you proud.
Rest in peace, my beloved son, and never forget how we love and cherish you.
It's all good, my son. I love you and will be forever in our hearts.
Love,
Mom
