I'll never forget the time we were all able to get together, for the first time at my little apartment on Thanksgiving, it was a beautiful day. And when that turkey hit the table Michael said I'm the Marine and I'm cutting the turkey, I said yes sir!

Q: Describe where Michael worked and what they did A: Mike worked in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at the Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. He was a really great nurse and sometimes he was often mistaken for the doctor! He was so calm in such a chaotic place. I think it was due to all the trauma and drama he witnessed in Vietnam.

Q: Describe where Michael worked and what they did A: I’ve known Michael during my MICU days way back in 1992. Michael was always there to help all staff, nurses, and even our new residents because he was the only one who will show us the ins and out of the unit. He never got tired of teaching us his expertise. Michael was one of the best person to be around especially during our hectic busy days. I’ve never seen him get upset or frustrated. He was always willing to help. That smile never left his face and I have the privilege to say he’s not only a co-worker but a good friend to me… And been lucky enough to have his wife Gerrie to be one of my closest friend and confidant too. Both of them are meant for each other and both compliment each other. Michael is an extraordinary person, a good friend, loving husband, and dotting father to James . You will be missed so much Michael. Rest in peace. Love always, Maria Espiritu

Mike was friendly and often stopped to chat when he saw me at the skating rink. I particularly remember how lovingly he spoke of his wife, Gerrie. He told me that Gerrie was selfless, hard-working, and went out of her way to help others. Although I didn't know Mike well, I was touched by how much he adored his wife. I hope his memory will be a blessing to Gerrie, James, and all who loved him.
