Obituary of Robert James Bromback, Sr.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Robert 'Bob' J. Bromback, Sr. on April 6, 2023, at the age of 74.  Born in Poughkeepsie, Bob grew up with his family in Ossining, graduating with the class of 1967 from Ossining High School.  He went on to attend Roger Williams University and received his B.A. in Social Work and Psychology in 1972. 

He became a corrections officer in Rhode Island, and then when he returned to New York, he held several positions that incorporated his love for gardening and the outdoors.  He worked for the Village of Ossining Parks and Recreation Department and was a groundskeeper at Heritage Hills.  He also worked as a teacher in Peekskill School District for many years.  

While he enjoyed his working life, Bob had two great devotions that took precedence above all else.  First was his devotion to God.  Bob served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus.  His other great devotion was to his family.  A dear friend, Cathy Trocheck, introduced him to Judy Ciullo at a New Year's Eve party and he married Judy on April 27, 1974.  

Together they raised two children, Arthur and Robbie.  Bob was also blessed with a daughter, Melissa Bromback-Kelleher.  He enjoyed spending time with her and his grandsons, Brian and Joseph.  He was a wonderful family man and father, and while he may not have realized it, it was the daily small gestures that endeared him to his wife and children.  Bob will be remembered and thought of for his kind and generous nature to all he met.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Regina (Hamill) Bromback, and his faithful four-legged friend Rocky.

Bob leaves behind his wife Judy; his sons, Arthur and Robbie; many nieces and nephews, his fellow Knights and a host of friends. Also Robert has a daughter named Melissa Bromback Kelleher and two grandsons named Brian and Joseph. Artie and Robbie are Melissa's brothers.

Bob had a beautiful life that came to an end.  He died as he lived, everyone's friend.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be greatly appreciated.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY.

Chapel Service will be held during visitation at 5:00 pm.
