Obituary of Eugene S. Romano

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eugene S. Romano on July 9, 2023, at the age of 73.

Gene was born on October 7, 1949, to the late Eugene and Mary (Davitt) Romano in Jackson Heights, NY.  He was a graduate of Queens College with a degree in English Literature.  His career path eventually led him to his most recent and beloved position in customer service at Graymoor in Garrison, NY.

Gene had an avid interest in history, movies, television, and could always be found reading.  Gene touched the lives of many people and as one friend said, he was truly special and loved for his wit, intelligence, and for his great kindness.  He will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family.

Gene is survived by his partner, Jonathan Kiser, his sister and brother-in-law, Kathy (Mitchell) Singer, and his sister-in-law, Carol Malik. 

He will also be lovingly remembered by his five nephews, one niece, three great-nephews, and three great-nieces.

He now joins his parents and his brother John Shaw in heaven where we hope he has found eternal peace.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY.

Interment will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 10:00 am at Assumption Cemetery, 1055 Oregon Road, Cortlandt Manor, NY.
