Obituary of Joseph Anthony Piteo, Jr.

A handsome, kindhearted and loving man, Joseph Anthony Piteo, Jr., passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023, at his home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with his loving wife by his side.  Joseph was born November 12, 1958, in The Bronx, New York.  He was the son of Joseph Anthony and Josephine (Gentile) Piteo, now deceased.  He is also predeceased by his sister, Janice Daly, of Wappingers Falls, NY.

Joseph is survived by the love of his life and soulmate, Christine Mastracchio Piteo of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  They moved from Fishkill, NY in 2016 after Joe retired from Entergy Nuclear Northeast in Buchanan, NY, where he was a Senior Nuclear Production Technician for over 35 years.  He is also survived by two sons: Steven Piteo of Pennsylvania and Gregory Piteo of Washington, DC, and a daughter, Lenna Piteo of Wappingers Falls, NY.

Joe was an avid golfer since retiring to Myrtle Beach and was a devoted fan of the New York Rangers since childhood.  He held season pass tickets at Madison Square Garden, and was so enthralled to attend their win of the Stanley Cup in 1994.  He loved to hunt, play softball and bowl and was also a fan of the New York Yankees.  He also had a love for his blue Chevrolet Camaro.

He always had a smile on his face and was able to make everyone laugh.

He will surely be missed by all who ever had the pleasure to be in his presence.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 10:00am at Church of the Assumption, 920 1st Street, Peekskill, NY.
