Obituary of Carol Horne

Carol (Curran) Horne of Peekskill, New York, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024.

She was born on November 5, 1936, in Yonkers, NY, and was the daughter of Agnes (McGee) Curran and William Curran.

She grew up in Yonkers and attended Gorton High School. 

Carol was a dedicated stay-at-home Mom until her children were grown and then she worked for the Peekskill School system for 25 years as a Teacher’s Aide. She was well-respected by her peers and dedicated to her students.

Carol married the love of her life, Leonard Horne on September 12, 1959. They were deeply in love and devoted to each other for almost sixty-four years.

Carol was loved, respected, and admired by so many people, especially her family, and will be truly missed. 

Carol was pre-deceased by her husband, Leonard (Lenny) Horne

She is survived by her children: Denise (Mike) Russo, Greg (Dawn) Horne, Michele (Stephen) Horne-Gallaher, Gary (Jen) Horne, and her grandchildren Michael Russo, Gregory Horne, Nick Russo, Emma Horne, Addison Horne, Taylor Horne.

Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Carol's memory may be made to the St Jude Children’s Hospital.
