Louis “Lou” G. Cavaliere, 87, of Buchanan passed away on July 29 at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Peekskill of natural causes. Born to Jean and Frank Cavaliere on May 12, 1937 in Manhattan, NY, he was married for 66 years to Josephine V. (Marafioti) Cavaliere (Verplanck NY). Any mention of Lou’s life must include his love of boating and his camaraderie for his fellow boaters throughout the Hudson River. Lou was a lifetime member of the Peekskill Yacht Club where he was a boat owner and active participant along with his wife Jo in all Club events, and cherished all of the timeless relationships they created with their friends at the Club. He was also a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society in Verplank, NY.
While these details mark a life well spent, nothing was more important or enjoyable to Lou than his dearness for family and friends for whom he graciously gave unconditional love and support.
