Obituary of Joan F. Conkling
Joan F. Conkling 89 of Peekskill NY passed away peacefully with her family at her side on October 8, 2024, at New York Presbyterian-Hudson Valley Hospital.
Joan was born on October 14, 1934. She was the daughter of John Rosko and Martha Roos.
On January 8, 1955, in Tuckahoe NY she married William Lockwood Conkling. William predeceased her on February 26, 2021. They were married for 65 years.
Joan attended Tuckahoe High School, in Tuckahoe NY. After marrying William some time later she worked at Hudson Valley Hospital as the Supervisor of central sterile supply for over 30 years.
Joan loved Atlantic City and loved to play her numbers every week. She also liked to travel and visit her family. She was always ready to travel.
She is survived by her loving children, Scott Conkling and his wife Phyllis, Patti Ann Meagher, and Chris Conkling and his wife Perci. In addition to her children Joan is survived by her 7 grandchildren and 9 great grand children in which she truly loved and cherished.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother John Rosko, sister Ann Marie Valentine, her son-in-law Peter Meagher, and her grandson Timothy Conkling.
Visitation will be held at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home 414 Washington Street, Peekskill, NY on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Chapel Service will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, 101 Mill Street, Putnam Valley, NY on Monday, October 14, 2024, at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
