Roberta E. “Tissy” Gallagher, age 87, of Peekskill, NY passed away on June 28, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, NY surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 8, 1928 in Peekskill to Margaret and Arthur Grab. Roberta attended local area schools and was a graduate of Peekskill High School. On July 18, 1953 she married Charles B. Gallagher at the Assumption church in Peekskill. He predeceased her in October of 1996. Roberta is survived by four children; George Gallagher of Peekskill, Charlann (Dr. James) Charland of Amsterdam, NY, Erin (Alexander) Newton of Cortlandt Manor and Lynn (James) Gilchrist of Mahopac, NY. Six grandchildren: Dr. Jamie Charland, Ryan Charland, Thomas and Kayla Newton and James and Casey Gilchrist. Also surviving is a sister, Catherine Brophy of Peekskill. Visitation is today, Tuesday, June 30th, 4pm to 7pm at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, July 1st, 11:30am, at the Assumption Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Emily Etzkorn and the staff of Maria Hall at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam, NY.
