Obituary of Alice Kasvi Doran

Alice Kasvi Doran of Columbia SC, formerly of Peekskill, passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014. Born in Astor Park, FL, she was the daughter of the late Ernest E. Kasvi and Hilma Rehiimaki Kasvi, Finnish immigrants. Alice moved to South Carolina in 1978. She was first generation American and learned English as her second language. Alice grew up in Bronxville, NY where she graduated from Tuckahoe High School. She raised her family in Peekskill, NY. She worked for A.C. Neilson Co., was a Girl Scout Troop leader; worked for the New York DMV and as a waitress. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Doran of Columbia, SC, grandchildren, Sally and Joseph; great granddaughters, Caroline and Vivian. Predeceased by, her husband, Joseph Doran. Graveside service, Wednesday, June 23rd 10am, at the Assumption Cemetery. Arrangements Handled by Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, Peekskill, NY.
