Obituary of Josephine Astrologo

Josephine Astrologo (nee DiRubbo), passed away on March 30, 2018. She was born in Vitulazio, Italy on May 14, 1928 to Giuseppe and Antonietta DiRubbo. She emigrated to the United States in 1949 and settled in Peekskill where she met and married Joseph Astrologo. She and Joe were married for 55 years until his death in 2008. Josephine was a seamstress for several manufacturers in Peekskill retiring from Nan Flower in 1987. Josephine is survived by her daughters Linda Laipert (Joseph), Sylvia Astrologo (William Tuttle), her son Paul Astrologo (Margaret), 5 grandchildren; J.Douglas Laipert, Frank Laipert, Paul Astrologo Jr., Pia Laipert (Marco DeVirgilis), Rachel Santiago (Kevin) and 4 great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Peter DiRubbo and predeceased by her brothers Nicola DiRubbo, Silvio DiRubbo, Ercole DiRubbo and her sisters Maria Parisi, Jennie Pelaccio and Elena Diulio. The family will receive friends at Nardone Funeral Home on Wednesday April 4th, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday April 5th at 10:00am at the Church of the Assumption followed by interment at Hillside Cemetery, Cortlandt Manor. In her memory donations can be made to the Peekskill Community Volunteer Ambulance Corp.
