Doris and Joe were my lifelong friends. I just learned today of her death. I called wanting to visit her as I was here at the Friars of the Atonement in Garrison.
Doris, I have your cookbooks, the beautiful sugar bowl and the celery dish you and Joe gave me when you left our beloved Putnam Valley. I still have your gift to me, the soil from behind the old green barn that will forever be "my farm." I treasured you and Joe, I am saddened to have not seen you. please know that I know you are happy and safe with Joe in the loving hands of God.
I love you my friends, Jim and I treasure you always.
