Obituary of Helen Josephine Normoyle

Helen Josephine Normoyle passed away peacefully at Hudson Valley Hospital on October 17, 2010 at age 82 after a long illness. Helen was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine Normoyle and was born in the Bronx on March 1, 1928. She graduated from Aquinas High School in 1945. She then moved with her parents to Peekskill, NY where she has resided since. She worked with New York Telephone and Pan American Airlines for a number of years prior to her joining the District Attorney’s Staff in Peekskill as a legal secretary in 1979 and from which she retired in 1992. Prior to her sickness Helen had been active in various Church and Charitable organizations and was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption in Peekskill. In the last years of her sickness she lived at the Drumhill Senior Living Community in Peekskill. Helen was proud of her Irish heritage and had visited County Clare, Ireland on a number of occasions. She is survived by her cousin Jimmy Normoyle and his wife Anne as well as many other cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 20th at the Church of the Assumption, 131 Union Avenue, Peekskill at 10:00AM with burial following at St. Raymond’s Cemetery, Bronx, NY. Calling hours will be at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington St., Peekskill, NY on Tuesday October, 19th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.
