Obituary of George Edward Strumke

With our hearts filled with great sadness, George E. Strumke, Sr., a lifelong resident of Peekskill passed away on July 27th following a long illness of COPD. He was the son of George E. Strumke & Catherine (Miller) Strumke. He was a paid Fireman for the City of Peekskill for 43 years & held offices in many Fire Depts in Peekskill. His Love, passion & dedication was Centennial Hose Co.#1, a member for 68 years. He is survived by his wife Ruth (Manganello) Strumke, seven children Linda (John) Duncan, Patti Ann (Dan) Carey, Lori Strumke, Karen (David) Morley, George E. Strumke, Jr (Tina) , James (Marilyn) Strumke, Michael (Nia) Strumke. Eleven Grandchildren: Thomas Tooley, Nicholas Strumke, Kisha (Jones)Taffe, Jeremy Jones, Kayla (Duncan) Juhasz, Robert (Strumke) Shubert, Nicole Carey, David Morley, Jr.,George E. Strumke .3rd.,Samantha Morley, Kyle Duncan, and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Albert Strumke, sister Marie McKeon, and his grandson, Dustin Strumke. He is also survived by his sister MaryLou Calabrese, brother William Strumke, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home, 414 Washington Street Peekskill, NY on Friday August 3rd, from 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral Mass to be held at the Assumption Church on Saturday at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery
