Obituary of Waldo B. Knapp

Waldo B. “Wally” Knapp entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 26th, 2022 at the age of 76.

He was born on June 10, 1946, in New York City. Wally attended William H. Taft High School in the Bronx NY and later graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Long Island University. He spent his entire teaching career at P.S 143,  Louis Armstrong School where he touched the lives of many students up until his retirement in 2001.  

Wally was an educator at heart. He was kind, softly spoken, and always found time to answer questions or help solve a problem no matter how big or small.

After retirement, Wally coached several sports teams (What a sports fanatic!) at local area High Schools.

Wally was a father to and is survived by Valerie Kelley-Caesar (Ron) and Kim Lake. A Grandfather to Arielle Clark (Brandon) Amber Kelley (Lynde), Ashley Kelley, Devin Kelley, Aries Kelley, Jaden Cesar and Justin Caesar and a Great Grandfather to Adrian, Olivia, Kane, Noah, and Kason.  He is preceded in death by his parents Leon and Sepha Knapp and his granddaughter Aliyah. 

Interment will follow at Beth Moses Cemetery, 1500 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY.
